A honeycomb filter or killflash is a special device that is mounted on optical devices such as riflescopes, reflex sights or binoculars to prevent reflections and flashes of light.

The honeycomb filter consists of a multitude of small, honeycomb-shaped cells that direct the light entering or reflected from the optics in a specific direction. This prevents sunlight from reflecting off the lens, creating a telltale reflection that could betray the user, especially in military or hunting applications.

The term "killflash" refers to their primary function: "killing" (eliminating) flashes of light or reflections that bounce back from the optics. Such filters are particularly important in tactical environments to prevent one's position from being revealed. They minimally impair the view through the device while offering a significant advantage in terms of concealment and security.
